From the Pastor
by Lon Lorton
PASTOR’S CORNER
“Enter His gates with
thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and bless His
name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues
forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.”
[Psalm 100:4-5]
The psalmist is pretty
clear, isn’t he?
He was encouraging the people of God
to worship Him.
If God is God, and if we know how
much He loves us and wants a personal relationship with us, then
we have, not only a need, but a desire to meet with Him and
worship Him.
That makes a lot of sense.
So, the writer says, “Come with
thanksgiving and praise.
Bless the Lord, for He is good.”
I hope you do that.
My prayer for you is that you take
advantage of the opportunity you have to worship God with other
believers.
The only thing I know of that we can
give God is our praise and worship.
God receives it, but we also gain in
the experience, don’t we?
If our worship is genuine, we come
away from it with a deep sense of peace and joy and fulfillment.
As we enter into this
Lenten Season, looking toward Easter and the celebration of
resurrection, I will be praying that His gates will be busy with
the comings and goings of His people and His courts will be
filled with shouts of praise as we bless the name of our Lord.
I’ll pray, too, that we all might
feel His unfailing love and faithfulness.
Blessed be your Lenten experience,
RevLon.
